Martha Tadesse

I believe in the power of representation in photography. I commit to interview  and highlight people of different gender, ethnicity, age, religion, physical ability, and educational background.

I believe everyone has the ability to act on their own interest. I will work with clients who agree to prepare consent forms for individuals and groups. All  individuals and groups in my portfolio will agree to be photographed and share their stories through both verbal and written consent forms.

I believe that stories have a significant impact on how we shape our narratives around individuals and places. I commit to tell stories and portray individuals in the ways they would like to be portrayed, with ethics, dignity, and accuracy at the center.

As a humanitarian photographer, I'll keep learning and listening to see how I can grow and be more responsible for the social issues I document. And these codes of personal ethics will hold me accountable for carrying out this responsibility.
